Spring Things To Do at Mashpee Commons

The Massachusetts active adult community at Southport on Cape Cod is ideally located near the Mashpee Commons Shopping Center and all that it offers. Shopping, dining, events, and more, there’s always something to keep visitors entertained. This spring, you’ll find a fantastic array of classes and gatherings that you won’t want to miss.

Mashpee Commons Shopping Center is a popular location for residents of Southport thanks to its outdoor setting. It’s a great place to go for a walk with friends, window shopping, getting your daily steps in, and enjoying a healthy drink from Absolutely Juiced or a fun end to the day at Trevi Cafe & Wine Bar.  Mashpee Commons offers more than just shopping and dining. It’s also home to Regal Cinemas and even Mashpee Mini Golf, which is a fantastic way to enjoy the spring weather.

What sets Mashpee Commons apart from other shopping and dining centers are the variety of classes and events regularly on offer. For example, the “Twisted Stitchers” needle-working group meets every other Monday from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Mashpee Public Library. This event is free and open to all skill levels. The Mashpee Library is also where the Coffee & Coloring Club for Adults meets every Friday morning from 10-11:30 am for a stress-reducing and fun morning of coloring. Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Haven’t you wanted to have a go at your grandkids’ coloring books? The ones at this meetup are more detailed, but just as fun.

Innerglow Yoga hosts yoga classes for all levels, from chair yoga every Thursday at 11 a.m. to the more challenging Vinyasa Flow classes offered multiple times and days each week. Whether your mobility is challenged or you want to improve your balance and strength for upcoming sailing, hiking and other adventures this summer, Innerglow Yoga has teachers who will make sure you’re getting the most out of the exercises without pushing you past your limits.

If you want to exercise your brain, don’t miss the weekly Trivia Night at The Lanes. Teams and individuals can play every Monday from 7-9 pm to compete for prizes and bragging rights. The Lanes also hosts live music and DJs every Friday and Saturday night from 9:30-11:45 pm with no cover.

Brunch and spring seem to go hand in hand and The Lanes is also host to the weekly The Bloody Good Sunday Brunch. Just $12 gets you a fantastic dish such as eggs benedict, Vienna French toast with berries, or a sausage and bacon omelette with grilled muffin and fries, among other choices. Plus, you get your drink choice of a Bloody Mary, a Mimosa or their Grady’s Lane 43.

From running clubs to quilters groups to Lego enthusiasts, there is something going on every day at Mashpee Commons. Southport, a premier Massachusetts active adult community, is only about ten minutes away, ensuring easy access to all of their daily offerings.
