Since joining Southport and the Bonvie Homes team in 2013, Torrey Spilman has advanced from Administrative Assistant, to Sales Associate to Director of New Business & Communications. Now the Southport Sales Director and Senior Vice President of Bonvie Homes, she is an integral member of the team. Not a “salesperson” by nature, Torrey is great at promoting things she truly believes in. The exceptional quality homes, and second-to-none lifestyle and sense of community offered at Southport, have allowed her to use her instinctive understanding of people, and ability to listen to their individual needs, to help prospective buyers find homes that meet and exceed their expectations.
Torrey has a talent for maintaining big picture vision while considering the smallest details. She manages and motivates her team, bringing diverse points of view and personalities together to deliver win-win outcomes whenever possible. Torrey’s job requires collaboration in all areas of the home building industry, including shaping projects from the conceptual, pre-development and planning stages, through due-diligence, zoning and permitting. She loves analyzing new development opportunities and overseeing strategy and sales/marketing programs for some of Bonvie Homes’ most high profile new development projects.
Torrey is a licensed real estate broker, a member of the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is involved in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston Sales and Marketing Committee (BRAGB). In her free time, Torrey enjoys swimming and playing tennis, and is a published photographer. An avid reader, researcher, and consumer of news, she takes great pride in being involved in her community and has become a driving force behind broadening the philanthropic reach of Southport and Bonvie Homes, getting involved personally and professionally in giving back to communities throughout Massachusetts.
“When I first arrived at Southport two years ago, I was hired to fill an administrative role in the Sales Center. Eager to learn the business and prove myself a valuable member of this dynamic team, I accepted more and more responsibility and in no time was offered the position of Online Sales Consultant too. Each new opportunity has enabled me to become more of an expert in the inner workings of the new home construction and residential sales process. This has given me the knowledge and skills that I rely upon as a Sales Associate today. I love my job and take great pride that I get to introduce prospective homeowners to the special community and unique lifestyle that is offered at Southport.
In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My wonderful son, Owen, will be two years old this Spring, and it has been a joy watching him grow! Having been born and raised on Cape Cod myself, as were generations of our family before us, Owen and I are what they call true “Cape Codders!”
There’s no other place quite like Cape Cod, just like there’s no other place quite like Southport. I’ll tell anyone willing to listen, that should they choose to live here I’ll bet they will feel very fortunate to call it their home too! ”
“I spent my childhood in East Boston, surrounded by a large Italian family. I moved to Waltham when I got married and worked in the family jewelry business for 20 years while raising our four sons. Our love of golf brought us to the Cape in 1986 when we bought a summer home. My husband Dave, with whom I will celebrate my 50th anniversary this year, retired and we built our home in Mashpee to accommodate our growing family. We moved here permanently in 1998.
I started my real estate career in Waltham working with Hunneman/Coldwell banker in 1994. I joined the Southport Sales Team in 1999. My 14 years as a Sales Broker at Southport has truly been a dream job. I have met many wonderful people, some of whom have become very close friends. Their enjoyment and love of the community makes my job all that more rewarding.
I have nine super terrific grandchildren that I love (and spoil!) to death. I enjoy traveling with my family and on a recent cruise I actually zip-lined with them. I am looking forward to resuming my golf career once Southport is completed!”
